Finisterre Way: 4 stages

Information about the trip: Finisterre Way: 4 stages

The Finisterre Way (Camino de Finisterre) is the only Camino de Santiago route that begins in Santiago de Compostela. From the cathedral, pilgrims set out westward, leaving the city behind to discover quiet villages, remote farmlands, ancient forests, and unspoiled landscapes. The journey culminates at the dramatic sea cliffs of Cape Finisterre, the westernmost point of Spain and a place once believed to be the end of the known world.

This striking region, known as the Costa da Morte (Coast of Death), is filled with history, myths, and breathtaking scenery. The Camino follows the rugged Atlantic coastline, with panoramic views of the ocean, rocky cliffs, and pristine beaches, before leading you to the picturesque fishing village of Muxía, home to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Boat.

Completing the Camino de Finisterre entitles pilgrims to receive two unique certificates: the Fisterrana in Finisterre and the Muxiana in Muxía.

Set out from Santiago and walk to the “End of the World” and discover the beauty, history, and symbolism of the Finisterre Way, one of Galicia’s most unforgettable Camino routes.

    Arrival to Santiago De Compostela

90 km/ 55 mi separate the start of this itinerary from Finisterre, the final destination.
The city of Santiago is the biggest village in the world and, at the same time the smallest city on the planet. This Galician capital combines the comforts of small locations and the advantages of large and sophisticated cities.
The historic centre was declared as a world heritage site by UNESCO, is the jewel in the crown and was constructed stone by stone around its majestic cathedral. The discovery of the tomb of the apostle in the 9th century transformed this in a sacred place forever.
